Amber received her Diploma of Animal Health Technology in 2017 from Grande Prairie Regional College – Fairview campus. She launched her career in general practice and, within two years, had worked her way up to become the lead technician. Amber developed a strong interest in exotic medicine, finding them fascinating and embracing the challenges that they bring. In June of 2019, a career shift towards emergency medicine brought Amber down from Calgary to join the Family Pet Team. While we make sure to put her exotics skills to good use, Amber is growing as technician, tackling urgent care and the demands of a larger practice. Her attention to detail and excellent communication skills ensures that your pet is well looked after while in our care. Amber has a funny farm of exotics to keep her busy at home: two ball pythons, two leopard geckos, two cockatiels and “Charlie” the cat. Between dividing time with her critters, hiking, and playing the piano and guitar, Amber is ambitiously working towards finishing her undergraduate studies at the University of Lethbridge. Her goal is to fulfill her dream of becoming a veterinarian.
