Devany

Devany is a multi-talented Veterinary Assistant who began her career volunteering at Family Pet Hospital in 2011. She officially joined the FPH team in 2015 with the goal of gaining acceptance to veterinary school. Her academic career at the University of Lethbridge diverged to include three undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Management in Economics. Her love for science, communication and management stem from an extensive understanding of veterinary medicine.

Devany took a brief hiatus from the FPH family, spending time at a general practice clinic and as a team lead at the CARE Centre in Calgary. These experiences allowed her to work alongside extraordinary teammates and specialists, growing her passion for gold-standard patient care, personal development and mental wellness advocacy. Devany and her partner have their own nerdily themed zoo, including a clowder of cats and three adorable rescue pups. Having done rescue and foster work on her own dime with both hedgehogs and cats, Devany’s passion for shelter/rescue medicine extends into her work at FPH. Devany is passionate about providing a personal touch to veterinary medicine and can often be found snuggling hospitalized patients, chatting with long-term and new clients alike, and cheering on her colleagues.
