Dr. Lister hails from the East Coast of Canada, born and raised in Prince Edward Island. She is a multi-generational veterinarian, being the fourth in her family, although growing up was going to be anything but. She completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of New Brunswick before deciding vet school was the next step. After graduation from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, she stayed in Prince Edward Island and worked in a primary care practice. From there, Dr. Lister went on to complete a general internship at a busy Emergency and Specialty Referral practice in Newfoundland as well as an additional internship focusing in Diagnostic Imaging (radiographs, ultrasound and computed tomography). She continued to develop her skills, working in emergency medicine for two years before moving West, to merge once again with primary care here at Family Pet Hospital. Dr. Lister’s professional interests involve diagnostic imaging and ultrasound of course, but also interventional radiology, emergency and internal medicine and feline practice. Dr. Lister has lived in Alberta previously but is a new resident to the Lethbridge area, the draw of the mountains and winter sports being the reason for the return. She has brought along her family including her husband, three busy, young children, four cats and a saltwater aquarium.
