Mason was born and raised in sunny Napier, New Zealand, and studied at Massey University, graduating in 2023. His veterinary interests include general surgery and dental surgery, though he will never say no to a puppy or kitten vaccination—it's a guilty pleasure of his. Mason also enjoys being the calming voice for pet owners during emergencies.

In New Zealand, he has been a field hockey player and coach for the past 17 years, but now it’s all about ice hockey. He’s a longtime Maple Leafs supporter, through thick and thin. Working in Canada is the perfect opportunity for Mason, as it allows him to practice good medicine while also extending his ever-fading sporting career. Back home, his pet is a huntaway named Rex.
