Melissa was born and raised here in Lethbridge, Alberta. She is a recent graduate from Olds College, in May 2020, where she studied Animal Health Technology. From a young age, Melissa always had a love for animals and a passion in caring for them. Since she was a little girl, she had a variety of pets from chinchillas to dogs to lizards, with a dream of someday running a vet clinic. Melissa spent some time volunteering in the vet industry, which further encouraged her passion to become a reality. Now as an adult Melissa enjoys spending time with her rescued mastiff, Dexter! He keeps her on her toes and reminds her why she loves helping animals.  

Melissa aspires to give gold standard care and help your pets feel at home. She is a new member to Family Pet Hospital and is excited to learn and grow with the community. Melissa offers exceptional patience and kindness to every client and patient and is very ambitious to build relationships with them. So far at the clinic, Melissa has enjoyed being a part of surgeries and hopes to grow her skills in anesthesia. When Melissa is not working, she enjoys being outside, on the lake and in the mountains!
