Hi! My name is Mikayla. I have been at Family Pet Hospital since February of 2022. I grew up in the town of Coalhurst before moving to Okotoks which is where I graduated high school. Growing up, I don’t remember a time in my life that my family didn’t have a pet. I grew up around lots of horses, dogs and cats which is how my love for animals started.

In late 2021, I graduated from the Vet Assistant course offered at Olds College and somehow found my way back to Lethbridge where I was excited to be able to join Family Pet Hospital’s amazing team! I have also been enrolled with Penn Foster to become a Veterinary Technician since 2023. 

Working in emergency is so rewarding and I enjoy learning new things everyday! I go to work knowing I love what I am doing.

When I’m at home, I enjoy relaxing with my loved ones, hiking, and reading. I have a sassy 2-year-old rescue kitty named Nala at home who enjoys keeping me busy, and two guinea pigs,  Honey and Hippo.
